Lamb Burgers
One bite of this Mediterranean burger will take you right to a taverna by the sea. Enjoy with a traditional Greek salad and your taste buds will scream Opa!
| 1 1/2 lbs | ground Ontario lamb | 750 g |
| 1/2 | medium onion, finely minced | 1/2 |
| 1 tbsp | Dijon mustard | 15 mL |
| 1/4 cup | chopped fresh parsley | 50 mL |
| 2 tbsp | finely chopped fresh mint | 30 mL |
| 2 tsp | chopped fresh oregano | 10 mL |
| 1/2 tsp | each, salt and pepper | 2 mL |
| 4 | hamburger buns | 4 |
| Garnishes: | tzatziki, crumbled feta, thinly sliced red onion, olive slices, lettuce, cucumber slices and tomatoes |
In a large bowl, use fork to gently combine the lamb, onion, Dijon, parsley, mint,
oregano, salt and pepper. Gently form into four 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick patties.
Heat grill to high. Place the patties on the hottest part of the grill and sear until browned; 1 to 2 minutes per side. Move the patties to the cooler part of the grill and continue grilling until desired doneness, 4 to 8 minutes per side.
Place burger on spilt bun and garnish as desired.
Makes 4 servings.
