Homegrown Ontario introduced the brand in June 2007 at prominent Farmers’ Markets across Ontario as a ‘soft launch’. Point of sale materials including posters, on-pack stickers, case clings and more are provided free of charge to participating vendors who purchase their meat products from Homegrown Ontario approved suppliers. Participating processors will be permitted to brand Ontario raised meat products that meet our standards with the Homegrown Ontario logo.
In the fall of 2007 Homegrown boldly launched to Ontario consumers on mass. Homegrown Ontario could be seen in newspapers, magazines and on the Internet, and consumers could hear more about us on TV and radio programs. Promotional posters, recipe booklets and other materials began appearing at the independent retailers who have committed to promoting Homegrown Ontario.
